✨ KID’S TABLE & STOOLS MAKEOVER ✨

This table was used as our kid’s craft table and it was looking a little worn with all the paint, glue, and crayon marks. It had been used well! So, I decided to give it a little refresh and thought the kids would enjoy a chalkboard top for their table.

Here’s what I did:

1.) Sanded the table using 80 grit then 220 grit sand paper.
2.) Primed the entire table/stools using Zinsser 1-2-3 Primer. (I originally planned to use a latex paint, but went with a chalk paint instead. If you use a chalk paint, you can skip the primer.)
3.) Used Waverly Chalk Paint in White to paint the table legs and the stools.
4.) Using a smooth finish paint roller, I applied Chalkboard Paint to the table top. Allowed it to dry and applied another coat.
5.) Used a sanding pad and distressed the legs of the table and stools.
6.) Used a stencil and Rust-Oleum spray paint in Farmhouse Black with Matte finish to decorate the tops of the stools.
7.) After that had dried I used a sanding block to lightly distress the tops of the stools.

Although this was a kid’s table, I chose not to put any finishes over the paint. With the top being a chalkboard and the stools painted with a paint/primer in one, I felt it would be fine without a poly.

And that’s it! A simple design that the kid’s loved!!

2022 was full of ups and downs for our family. The twins were in the hospital several times last year with health issues that comes from being born so prematurely. This caused me to put a pause on my furniture business and shift my focus to their health issues and getting them better.

With that being said, I am happy to report that they are doing amazingly well now and I feel like it is a great time to start working on furniture again. I am excited for this new year and I thank you for supporting me and my business in 2022!!
